Southern Star Party 2022

The 15th Southern Star Party was organized from 26 to 28 August 2022 at Daan Viljoen. With about 90 participants (including about 30 children), this was again a huge success. Further, this was the first occasion that showcased the UNAM/Africa Millimetre Telescope (AMT) planetarium to the public.
In three shows of about one hour each, the astrophysics students from UNAM gave the excited audience a tour through the Universe even before it got dark. At the same time the Sun could be observed through specialized telescopes, showing a huge protuberance. At night the participants could enjoy guided tours of the stars, making use of several different telescopes of sizes up to 20 inches.
