October's night sky in Namibia brings exceptional stargazing opportunities.

Saturn highlights the month by reaching opposition on October 4, remaining visible all night in the constellation Cetus. Mid-month offers optimal viewing for Mercury at dusk, while Mars and Jupiter shine bright in the pre-dawn hours.

Stargazers can also look forward to the Southern Taurid meteor shower peaking on October 10 and clear views of the Andromeda Galaxy low on the northern horizon.

Finally, the featured constellation of the month is Pavo, home to the brilliant star Peacock and NGC 6752, the sky's third-brightest globular cluster.
