Namibia’s Energy Future: Challenges and Opportunities

The Namibia Scientific Society (NSS), in collaboration with the Namibia Energy Institute (NEI) at the Namibia University of Science and Technology and the U.S. Embassy in Namibia, invites the scientific and engineering community and the general public to a special public lecture exploring Namibia’s energy future.
The public lecture will explore how Namibia can provide reliable access to energy for its citizens while supporting a developing economy, and how the country can make effective use of its abundant solar potential, newly discovered oil and gas resources, and other energy resources.
KEYNOTE PRESENTER: Prof Stephen Holland, Professor of Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a U.S. Fulbright Scholar at NEI/NUST, will provide an energy economics perspective on Namibia’s energy challenges and opportunities.
