This month’s night sky offers some beautiful highlights, even as Mercury, Venus, and Mars slip too close to the Sun to observe. Jupiter is now visible after midnight and Saturn shines in the evening sky, while the Milky Way forms a stunning full 360° arc from a clear vantage point. The Large Magellanic Cloud is well placed for viewing in the southern sky, with the impressive Tarantula Nebula visible through binoculars.
