- 25 June 2025
July brings a range of exciting sights to the Namibian sky. The Moon cycles through all its phases, with a Full Moon lighting up the sky on the 10th. Earth reaches its aphelion on 3 July, marking the point in its orbit where it is furthest from the Sun. Mercury puts on a good show in the early evenings, reaching its highest point in the sky on 7 July, while Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are visible in the early morning hours. Mars continues to shine in the evening sky. Our constellation of the month is Corvus, the Crow, home to the fascinating Antennae Galaxies and steeped in Greek mythology. Don’t miss this month’s full astro update, where we dive into what to look for and when to see it!
