This book places on record the awarding of medals by the German Military Authorities to members of the Native population in the former colony of German South West Africa.
These members of the Native population were in the military service in the Colonial Troops and fought integrally with the Colonial Troops during the various campaigns within the colony.
The book is not a work on the history of or the politics of their service in the former colony but deals rather specifically with the medal awarded to these members of the Native population as from 1892 to 1918 when the country ceased to be a German colony.
This book is a must on the bookshelf of every historian of German South West Africa, the Colonial Troops for German South West Africa or collector of the medals of German South West Africa.
